Red, white, blue…jeans?
That’s the theme of this year’s U.S. team’s 2024 Olympic ceremonial uniforms, helmed by Ralph Lauren. hem — This is the 9th time.
The brand unveiled its uniforms for the opening and closing ceremonies of the upcoming Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games on Tuesday. Although the athletes will be heading to Paris for the games, they won’t be the only ones wearing the red, white and blue: Their look will also have an American feel, as the French flag also boasts the same colors.
For the opening ceremony, the base of the outfit will be a blue and white striped Oxford shirt with a navy tie for men. Olympians will wear a red, white and navy blue wool blazer with the Ralph Lauren logo on top. Crew members will wear suede back shoes and slim fit light denim jeans underneath. The brand acknowledged that this choice was an “unexpected combination” with the rest of the outfit.

At the Closing Ceremony, the Olympians will wear white moto jackets emblazoned with the emblems and colors of the United States and white denim jeans with the words “TEAM USA” down the leg. The uniforms will come with a U.S. belt and baseball cap.

Ralph Lauren said the Team USA collection was inspired by the “dynamic and vibrant” fashion of Olympic cities, the “rich tradition” of Olympic sports and the “patriotism” of the color palette of the American flag.
“Ralph Lauren has once again created a design that not only captures the essence of American style, but also embodies the spirit and pride of Team USA,” said Sarah Hirshland, CEO of the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee. “As Team USA athletes prepare to represent the United States in the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games, this iconic apparel will serve as a symbol of unity and inspiration for both our team and the millions of fans who cheer them on.”
The line also includes the brand’s first-ever 100% recycled cotton polo shirts, and all Opening and Closing Ceremony Parade uniform styles will be made in the USA, with some made from recycled polyester and Responsible Wool Standard-certified wool sourced in the USA.
