Team USA announces Olympic mountain bike team in Bentonville

Brett from Fort Smith brings you 40/29 news. “For some, the road to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris starts in Bentonville!” 40/29’s Phil Reed has more details on the big announcement that will be made there tomorrow. Tomorrow, USA Cycling will announce the men’s and women’s Olympic mountain bike teams. It will be at 10 a.m. at the Leisure in Bentonville. The city has partnered with USA Cycling in 2022 to designate Bentonville as the home of the U.S. Mountain Bike National Team. Officials say USA Cycling has hosted camps for the national team for the past two years, training on the Northwest Arkansas Trail Network. It’s a big biking community here. This year, Bentonville hosted events like Expedition Ozarks and Bike Fest. These events bring thousands of people from all over the world to Northwest Arkansas. Tomorrow’s event will be at the Leisure. Officials say it’s the first building in the world where you can ride a bike. USA Cycling CEO Brendan Quirk will host the event. The video will be shown.
