Britain is expected to reach a high of 25C this weekend. While many of us may be out and about enjoying the warm weather, our cell phones could be at risk.

Excessive heat can cause serious damage to electronic devices, especially smartphones. When your phone starts to heat up, the processor works harder to prevent it from overheating, which can lead to decreased performance.

Hot weather can also drain your phone’s battery excessively. This can reduce efficiency in the long run.

People will wonder how to protect their technology from getting too hot and facing long-term damage. Luckily, the experts at Increditools have shared the best ways to keep your phone and other devices cool in this weather.

remove cell phone case

Keeping your phone in a case is a great way to protect it from damage. However, the case acts as an insulator and prevents heat from escaping your phone, increasing the risk of your phone overheating.

When you remove the phone case, heat dissipates quickly, keeping your phone cool. Naturally, phone cases are important in protecting your phone, but even taking it off for a few minutes in a safe environment can have a positive impact on your phone.

take out mobile phone from pocket

It’s convenient to keep your phone in your pocket, but your pocket is a small space and you’ll be pressing your phone against your skin, which means your phone will take away a lot of your body heat. If you don’t have a bag to put your phone in when you’re out and about, loose pockets, such as larger shirt pockets, are also good places to store your phone.

Change mobile phone settings

By making some changes to your phone’s settings, you can reduce the battery and energy your phone is using, and subsequently keep your phone’s temperature cool. First, you should turn off your data settings when you don’t need them, or go a step further and put your phone in airplane mode when you’re not using it.

This can save your phone’s battery, which is closely related to the phone’s temperature. Another setting you can change is your phone’s brightness. Lowering the brightness reduces battery usage and reduces the heat generated by your phone.

Don’t use your cell phone too much

Apps and software, especially gaming and video apps, can consume a lot of your phone’s battery and make your phone warm. If you’re already in a hot climate, it’s wise to avoid using these apps unless absolutely necessary. Even if it means finding a shady or cool place to use your phone, it makes a big difference in the temperature of your phone.

Keep your phone out of the sun

It may seem obvious, but preventing your phone from overheating is much easier than fixing your phone from overheating. Simple things like storing your phone in a cool room or in the shade can go a long way in protecting your phone. So next time you go out, be conscious of where you put your phone and check the following: Located in the shade or in a cool location.
