WARREN COUNTY, Ohio – Did you know the Warren County Park District is hosting Technology-Free Tuesdays all summer? Every Tuesday, Warren County Park District Naturalist Shannon Pennington will help parents get their kids technology-free and into the natural world, free of charge.

Throughout the summer, Pennington runs fun, family-friendly educational programs at either Armco Park or Landen Deerfield Park that are sure to engage children of all ages. Pennington said the programs alternate weekly between Armco Park and Landen Deerfield Park, making it easy for families living in both southern and northern Warren County to participate in the programs. Pennington explained that this allows Warren County residents the choice to participate in activities at the park closer to their home or participate in the all-Free Tech Tuesdays that are held at both parks. It’s a parent’s choice.

Tech Free Tuesday 2024 already began earlier this month, with many more Tech Free Tuesdays planned for the future.

Also new this year is the second instalment, Cops and Bobbers.

Each year, the park district kicks off its summer programming as follows: Cops and BobbersA fishing tournament for children aged 0 to 16 was held at Armco Park Lake. Cops and Bobbers It is scheduled to take place June 29 at Kingswood Park in Deerfield Township.

Bait will be provided free of charge, but young anglers must bring their own fishing poles. The fishing tournament is open to kids ages 0-16 and runs from 8 a.m. to noon.

More than 190 kids came out to fish for free and meet Warren County heroes at the recent Armco Park Cops and Bobbers. Pennington said the program is run through “partnerships with ODNR, WCSWCD, Heroes on the Water, Little Miami Conservancy, Warren County Sheriff’s Office and others.”

In addition to Tech Free Tuesday, the Warren County Park District offers a variety of programs for families and people of all ages. Visit Warren County Park District Events for more information.
