WASHINGTON, July 16, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The United States Mexico Foundation (USMF) and the U.S. Mexico Chamber of Commerce are proud to announce the launch of Bridge49: Nearshoring Technology Alliance. The initiative will initially bring together six leading B2B technology companies that are leaders in their fields to leverage cutting-edge technology and innovation to address key industry challenges in logistics, procurement, supply chain technology, modern finance and manufacturing along the U.S.-Mexico trade corridor.

This trade route (US-Mexico) is one of the largest and fastest growing in the world and has long needed solutions to make the most of emerging technologies to enhance existing processes. With annual trade expected to exceed $799 billion in 2023, the importance and size of this market cannot be overstated. The rise of nearshoring further accelerates the need for innovative solutions as companies seek to relocate operations closer to home to make their supply chains more resilient and efficient. This year has seen a clear shift in global trade dynamics as US imports from Mexico surpassed imports from China for the first time in over 20 years.

Collaboration with key players and companies: The Alliance works closely with industry leaders to bring its members’ solutions, and those of other technology companies, to a wider audience. This is achieved through participation in conferences, customer advisory boards and executive roundtables, ensuring innovative solutions reach more businesses and nearshoring operations improve every day.

“Nearshoring is the future of U.S.-Mexico trade, and Bridge 49 is dedicated to leading the way with innovative solutions. By bringing together the top technology companies from both countries, we are creating a powerful hub of knowledge and resources that can tackle the unique challenges of cross-border trade.” “We are pleased to partner with the U.S.-Mexico Foundation to bring these technologies to the U.S.,” said Enrique Perret, board member of the U.S.-Mexico Foundation and chairman of Bridge49: The Nearshoring Tech Alliance.

“There’s a lot of work to do to remove barriers to entry, especially in the logistics and technology sectors, and we need to move fast. We want to create connections between growing companies and leaders at larger enterprises to unlock the full potential of nearshoring.” “We are pleased to welcome this important milestone to Mexico,” said Pedro Casas Alatriste, executive vice president and general director of the Mexican-American Chamber of Commerce.
