Islamabad, Pakistan, October 29, 2024– Telenor Pakistan and ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a leading global provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, use MIMO technology to achieve record data transmission speeds of 1.9 Gbps over 11.6 km , setting a new benchmark in telecommunications. . This achievement marks the highest transmission speed ever recorded in Pakistan and represents a significant advancement in microwave backhaul technology.

The trial, conducted within Telenor Pakistan’s live network environment, successfully tested next-generation microwave transmission technology aimed at improving network performance and capacity. By leveraging the industry’s first 18 GHz and 23 GHz dual-band integrated antenna and advanced carrier aggregation technology, the test achieved stable transmission over 7.8 km at a capacity of 3.9 Gbps. Additional testing included a second-hop solution using the 18G+80G band, reaching 4.9 Gbps over 7.4 km. The third link increased the transmission distance to 11.6 km and achieved 1.9 Gbps with MIMO technology.

These tests highlight ZTE’s innovative microwave technology and strong product development capabilities to meet evolving network requirements and align with the latest trends in microwave transmission communication networks. “ZTE is committed to providing high-capacity, easy-to-deploy transmission solutions that simplify operation and maintenance. Our goal is to provide flexible, cutting-edge solutions that support the future evolution of mobile networks. ”. Mr. Li Ningtao, CMO of ZTE Pakistan.

The successful demonstration of this next-generation technology highlights Telenor Pakistan’s commitment to integrating the latest advances to meet the growing demand for high-speed data services. “This achievement reflects our strategic focus on improving network efficiency and providing a superior data experience for our customers,” he said. Awais Vohra, CTO, Telenor Pakistan. “By deploying cutting-edge MIMO technology, we aim to enhance network performance and expand capacity.”
