NEW YORK (AP) — Teoscar Hernandez hit two home runs and drove in six RBIs, including a grand slam, and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the New York Yankees 11-3 on Saturday night, recording their second straight win in a marquee series.
Kiké Hernández also hit a home run, and Shohei Ohtani added a run to support rookie Gavin Stone (7-2), who has won his third straight start and has five wins in his last six games.
The Dodgers (41-25) suffered their third loss of the season to New York (45-21) but will be looking to close out a three-game winning streak when they visit the Bronx for the first time since 2016 on Sunday night.
Yankees’ Aaron Judge hit two home runs for his major league-leading 23rd, but the Yankees have only scored three runs in 23 innings at the plate since slugger Juan Soto left Thursday night’s game against Minnesota with a forearm injury.
That frustration was on full display when Giancarlo Stanton slammed his bat after hitting a pop fly at the end of the seventh inning.
In a high-profile matchup between the first-place teams that could serve as a World Series preview, Teoscar Hernandez stole the spotlight from the five MVPs on each side of the ball. His two-run double in the 11th inning Friday night broke a scoreless tie in Los Angeles’ 2-1 victory, and his solo homer off Nestor Cortes (3-5) in the second inning Saturday gave the Dodgers a boost.
With the bases loaded in the eighth after relief pitcher Tommy Kahnle walked two batters and second baseman Gleyber Torres made his 10th error of the year, Hernandez hit a 2-2 changeup for his fifth career grand slam and his second of the season, his 18th two-run homer.
It was the Dodgers’ second throw of the night to left-center field, and it had his teammates jumping for air as the fired-up outfielder rounded the bases for his 15th home run of the season to extend the lead to 8-2.
The six RBIs tied a career high for Hernandez, who has now achieved it three times. Freddie Freeman added a two-run double in the ninth inning.
Dodgers relief pitcher Alex Bethea came in to replace Stone with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth and got Anthony Volpe out to protect a 4-2 lead, much to the delight of the many Dodgers fans in the season-high capacity crowd of 48,374 at Yankee Stadium.

Dodgers: Manager Dave Roberts said he wasn’t sure yet whether right-hander Bobby Miller (right shoulder inflammation) would make one more minor-league rehab start or join the major-league rotation. Miller gave up two runs (one earned) and four hits in four innings at Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, throwing 50 of his 85 pitches for strikes. “Everything felt good. My control felt better,” Roberts said. … Left-hander Clayton Kershaw (shoulder surgery) had “normal soreness” after pitching two innings in a simulated game at Class-A Rancho Cucamonga on Friday, Roberts said. The three-time Cy Young Award winner said he plans to pitch three innings of simulated games and then begin a minor-league rehab assignment.
Yankees: Soto (left forearm inflammation) will miss his second straight game. … RHP Gerrit Cole, who has nerve inflammation in his right elbow, is expected to throw about 55-60 pitches in his second rehab start Sunday at Double-A Somerset.

Dodgers right-hander Tyler Glasnow (6-4, 2.93 ERA) will face rookie right-hander Luis Gil (8-1, 1.82 ERA) in the series finale on Sunday night. Glasnow began the day leading the majors with 104 strikeouts, while Gil had the lowest ERA in the American League.
Gill is 7-0 with a 0.60 ERA in his last seven games and is the first pitcher in Yankees history to pitch six or more innings and allow one run or less in seven consecutive games.
