Pakistan’s military said a terror attack on a medical centre in the restive northwest countryside on Tuesday killed at least seven people, including two security guards and two minors.
According to the Pakistan Army press service, the terrorists attacked a Rural Health Centre (RHC) in Khiri Shamozai town in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The civilians killed in the shooting included two minors, RHC staff members, including two female health workers, and a security guard at the facility.
Security forces in the vicinity were immediately mobilised to clear the RHC and in the ensuing gunfight, two troops engaged the terrorists, killing them.
This was the second terror attack in 24 hours, killing eight soldiers who tried to prevent terrorists from entering the Bannu garrison in the early hours of Monday.
The Pakistani army said on Tuesday that a group of 10 terrorists attacked a key military post in restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, killing at least eight Pakistani soldiers and 10 terrorists.
The statement said that 10 terrorists who launched the daring attack had tried to enter Bannu Garrison on Monday but were effectively intercepted by security forces and all were eliminated.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur condemned the attack on the health centre in his home district of Dikhan. He expressed deep grief and sorrow over the deaths of the RHC staff and security personnel.
Targeting innocent people at a medical facility is a cowardly act and the perpetrators involved in this barbaric act are inhuman, he said.
