The Texas Tech basketball team won’t be hosting Texas A&M this season, but the Red Raiders will play the Aggies at another venue.

Jon Rothstein of College Hoops Today reported Thursday that the 2024 Red Raiders-Aggies game will be played at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth on Dec. 8. Per Rothstein’s report, the game will be “part of a four-game series that includes one men’s game and two featured women’s matches.”

The home-and-home series between the Big 12 and Southwest Conference rivals was announced last December, with the first game scheduled to take place in Lubbock on Nov. 29. Those plans took a turn when the Aggies agreed to participate in the Players Era Festival, a non-state player-led event in which participating teams would sign players to seven-figure non-state player contracts.

Texas Tech's Chance McMillian (0) goes for a dunk during a US LBM Coast to Coast Challenge basketball game at Dickies Arena on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023 in Fort Worth.

Texas Tech returns to Fort Worth for the second straight year after taking part in the Coast to Coast Challenge against Vanderbilt University at Dickies Arena last season, as part of a tripleheader featuring TCU vs. Arizona State and UT Arlington vs. Air Force University.

The Red Raiders currently have eight of 11 non-conference games scheduled, with a date yet to be set for their home matchup against Wyoming and two other games to be added to the schedule.

The Red Raiders will play three games at Las Vegas Ballpark against three other teams, including Texas, Illinois and Washington.

Details of fight cards and match times will be announced at a later date. The event will run from February 28th to March 2nd.
