FAYETTEVILLE — Kylie Wyckoff, a 2024 All-Big 12 First Team utility player who transferred from Texas Tech, committed to Arkansas softball on Sunday.

“Everything happens for a reason,” Wyckoff wrote in announcing her decision on social media.

She was the first player to commit to the Razorbacks this offseason and was one of the top players in the portal, with Softball America rating Wyckoff as the fifth-best player in its transfer rankings.

Wyckoff led Texas Tech with 59 hits and a .407 batting average as a sophomore. She had 12 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, 18 walks and 35 RBIs. Her .662 slugging percentage was second among Red Raisers with three or more at-bats.

The 5-foot-7 left-handed pitcher played catcher, first base, right field and left field. Her fielding percentage was .977.

Wyckoff’s impressive sophomore year followed a season in which she was named Big 12 League Rookie of the Year in 2023. As a freshman, she batted .393 with a .740 slugging percentage, 59 hits, 15 doubles, nine home runs and 31 RBIs.

In her two-year career, she batted .400 with 16 home runs, 66 RBIs, 77 runs scored and a .987 fielding percentage.

Arkansas will welcome three players from Katy, Texas, High School’s class of 2024 to its team. Freshman Ashtyn Reichardt and pitcher Cameryn Harrison join Wyckoff as Katy High School alumni.

Her addition continues a trend of Houston-area players committing to Arkansas. In addition to Reichardt, Harrison and Wyckoff, the Razorbacks also added freshman outfielder Ella McDowell (Richmond, Texas) and returning first baseman Bri Ellis (Houston).

Since the transfer portal opened, Arkansas players Hannah Camenzind, Lauren Camenzind and Casey Hoffman have all transferred to Nebraska. Outfielders Nijah Fontenot (McNeese State), Kylie Brockman (unannounced) and Nikki McGuffin (unannounced) have also entered the portal.

For the second straight year, Arkansas has landed a former conference freshman of the year winner. Ellis, the SEC freshman of the year at Auburn, transferred to the Razorbacks last offseason.
