Indianapolis has hosted the U.S. Olympic diving trials seven times since 1984, but the trials moved to Knoxville, Tennessee for team selection for the Paris Olympics.
As was the case throughout the 2000s, this team is expected to feature a number of Hoosier players.
The tournament will run for seven days starting Monday, and NBC will broadcast it live, including five nights of primetime coverage on NBC, USA Network and Peacock.

The United States did not qualify for Paris in the men’s synchronized 10 meters. In the individual events, the top two skaters in the 3 meters will advance, and the winner of the 10 meters will advance, but the runner-up could also compete if the United States is awarded a second spot.
Sarah Bacon (27), a diver from Indianapolis, narrowly missed out on the Olympic team three years ago, but this is her first time trying to make the team. She placed third in the three-meter qualifying, with the top two divers selected to represent the country.
Bacon, a state champion at Cardinal Ritter, became one of the most decorated divers in school history. During her time at Minnesota, she was a five-time NCAA champion. Bacon was named the Big Ten Female Athlete of the Year in 2021, won two NCAA titles and a World Cup silver medal.
She has won two world championship silver medals in the non-Olympic event, the 1 meter.
Two former Indiana University divers, Andrew Capobianco and Jessica Parratt, who won silver medals in Tokyo, are aiming to return to the Olympics.
Parratt is coming out of retirement to compete in the synchronized 10m alongside Delaney Schnell, who most recently won bronze at the 2023 World Championships.
Capobianco will join the now-retired Michael Hixson in winning the medal and IU’s Quinn Henninger in the running to make the team.
Capobianco will also compete in the individual 3-meter event, competing with Hoosiers Carson Tyler and Henninger. Tyler won both the 3-meter and 10-meter events at the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis in March.
In the 3-meter dash, we have Tyler Downs, who narrowly beat out David Boudia to make the team in 2021. Downs won the NCAA title in the 10-meter dash in 2022 while at Purdue University, but has since left the university.
Brandon Loschiavo, another NCAA champion from Purdue, was 11 years old.Number The 10-meter event will take place in Tokyo. Purdue has sent divers to the past four Olympic Games.
Loschiavo will compete for that automatic spot against Josh Hedberg, a 17-year-old from Noblesville who competed in the 2022 and 2024 world championships.
Boudia, 35, is a four-time Olympic medalist who competed in each of the past five Olympic Trials and is retiring to coach at Purdue University in 2022. Boudia was recently promoted to head coach after Adam Soldati stepped down due to his ALS diagnosis.
