The first round of the 2024 NBA Draft has finally come to an end after months of preparation, and while France natives Zachary Lisacher and Alex Sarr were expected to be the first two picks, the rest of the night was full of unexpected developments.
Kristen Peake Wrapping up Day 1 of the draft with Yahoo Sports’ NBA contributors Tom Haberstraw Portland Trail Blazers TV commentator Lamar HurdTo kick off the show, the crew revealed the three biggest surprises of the night, the first of which was the unexpected selection of Purdue center Zach Eddy by the Memphis Grizzlies with the ninth overall pick.
In the second half of the show, the group will look back on some of the biggest storylines of the night, including the aforementioned heated draft situation and why the four French players selected in the first round are continuing to do so. “Wenby Wave” International athletes are taking the sports world by storm, and the trend shows no signs of stopping.
