The highlight of the basketball competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics will be the US women’s team vs Japan

The U.S. women’s basketball team is gearing up for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Sabrina Ionescu, A’ja Wilson and Brittney Griner are among the stars of the U.S. team who will open the Summer Olympics in Group C against Japan. The U.S. has a 72-3 record at the Olympics and has won seven consecutive gold medals. The U.S. last lost in the 1992 Olympics.

After the All-Star Game, the WNBA season was put on hiatus, and the women’s national team played against the WNBA All-Star team during the break on July 20, then played an exhibition match against Germany in London on July 23. Their previous international game was a 101–39 win over Senegal in a group game for the 2024 Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Antwerp, Belgium.
