In 2024, inter-promotion collaboration is becoming a trend in professional wrestling. Whether they go by playful names like forbidden doors, forbidden entrances, or restricted entrances, collaboration between wrestling companies is changing the face of the genre. The National Wrestling Federation is also embracing this trend through their ongoing territory expansion.
Recently, the NWA highlighted its efforts in a press release highlighting its partnership with Fight the World Wrestling (FTW). NWA vs. FTW showdown The event took place on June 21. In a statement, Galli said, “This is part of a concerted effort to not only pay tribute to the history, heritage and traditions of the National Wrestling Alliance, but also to bring our fans the most exciting in-ring action and a diverse lineup of established and up-and-coming talent in professional wrestling today.”
Under Billy Corgan’s leadership, the NWA reinstated its traditional territory system in 2023, incorporating new promotions such as Exodus Pro in Ohio (NWA Exodus Pro Midwest) and Joe Casana Promotions in Tennessee (NWA-JCP Southeast). In May, the NWA aligned with the World Wrestling Council (WWC) in Puerto Rico. Also that month, NWA World Heavyweight Champion EC3 represented the company at All Japan Pro Wrestling’s (AJPW) Super Power Series, defeating AJPW’s Tatsuki Honda at Korakuen Hall in Japan to retain his title.
