Tariq is an Eagle Scout (yes, he earned the Space Exploration Meritorious Service Medal), a Space Camp veteran (four times as a child and once as an adult), and had the ultimate “vomit comet” experience while covering a zero-gravity fire. Prior to joining Space.com, he was a reporter for the Los Angeles Times, covering cities and education. He holds journalism degrees from the University of Southern California and New York University.
