After suffering a defeat to co-hosts USA in what was billed as the season’s “first upset”, Pakistan will now face neighbours India in their second match of the tournament. The highly anticipated match on Sunday will also mark India’s second match of the T20 Cricket World Cup 2024. India opened the tournament with a win against Ireland on June 5.
The arch rivals will meet in the 19th match of the tournament at a new 34,000-seater stadium in Nassau County, New York. Both India and Pakistan have won the T20 World Cup once – India won the inaugural tournament in 2007 while Pakistan brought home the trophy in 2009.
In an interview with USA Today, International Cricket Council CEO Geoff Allardice described the showdown between the two countries as “one of the greatest international sporting rivalries in the world of sport.” One of the main reasons for this is the long-standing political tensions between the nuclear-armed nations, which began soon after their independence from Britain in 1947 and continued to worsen over the years. As a result, despite cricket being deeply ingrained in their cultures, the two nations never meet outside of international tournaments like this one.
Matches between Pakistan and India are few and far between, leading to high demand and, as a result, high ticket prices. Matches between the two countries are almost always played in packed stadiums, and Sunday is expected to be no exception. Here’s a closer look at what India vs Pakistan ticket prices are like.
When is Pakistan vs India match?
India and Pakistan will face off at 10:30 a.m. Eastern time on Sunday, June 9, at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in Long Island, New York, about 30 miles east of downtown Manhattan.

General tickets for the India vs Pakistan match sold out almost immediately after the general ticket lottery on the official website and after it went on sale in February. At the time, the ICC said that India vs Pakistan was the most popular match of the tournament, and that the general ticket lottery was “over 200 times oversubscribed.”
A limited number of Diamond Club seats are available for sale on the official website of the T20 tournament for $10,000, Cabana seats for $3,000 and Premium Club Lounge seats for $2,500.
Pakistan vs India tickets to be sold to third party sellers
Tickets for the India vs Pakistan match are currently available to purchase at various prices on third-party websites such as Stubhub and SeatGeek.
As of Friday afternoon, tickets to the “Most Watched Events” on Stubhub were selling for $630 a piece with no fees, while tickets on SeatGeek were selling for $870 a piece with no fees. The most expensive tickets on Stubhub were selling for about $4,500 with no fees, while on SeatGeek they were selling for $6,700 with no fees as of Friday.
SeatGeek told USA TODAY that the average resale price for tickets to the India-Pakistan match is $1,366, “nearly five times higher” than the next most popular match, the United States-India match on June 12 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.
SeatGeek said Thursday night that so far, “ticket sales for premium front-row seats have reached approximately $2,400.”
“Sunday’s match is also the most in-demand match of this year’s entire World Cup, followed by the India vs Canada match at Central Broward Regional Park & Stadium in Lauderhill on June 15,” SeatGeek said, adding that the average resale price for tickets to the event is $349.
In early March, ticket prices for the same game started at $1,000 with no fees, and VIP tickets were as much as $40,000 each with no fees. The most expensive tickets had fees of around $1,000, for a total price of $50,000 for a VIP ticket. Since then, the market has cooled, and ticket prices across the board appear to be dropping.
