Have you heard of the new TikTok trend? Unfortunately, a lot of teenagers in Alabama are trying it out.
Video below…

The results haven’t been good for many — some have been hospitalized with alcohol poisoning, and more than a few have woken up with hangovers — and I think some of the videos should come with a “do not try at home” disclaimer.

Let us talk about the evolution of TikTok, the popular video-sharing app for teenagers around the world. That’s right, we, as adults, have infiltrated the social media platform that was once the sole domain of teenagers.

As adults, we sometimes forget that the videos we post are viewed by minors. So what does it take to make this trend a reality? All you need is a water filter like Brita and some cheap alcohol. Like, vodka. Cheap vodka. Scroll down to watch the video.

What on earth makes a good vodka? Good vodka is distilled more times than cheap vodka. Distilling vodka removes impurities, so the more times it is distilled the more impurities are removed. The end product is a better tasting vodka. Personally, I don’t think if vodka is that good it needs orange juice to make it taste better.
The concept seems like it could work. I’m no scientist, but filtration is supposed to remove impurities, so it might work. Many people claim that filtering vodka or cheap alcohol makes the alcohol taste better. Some claim that it completely eliminates the taste of the alcohol. For some reason, I feel like I’ve heard about this trick before, but I can’t remember where. This is new to me, and I’m sitting here watching water slowly drip into a pitcher, like I’m watching the clock and waiting for work to finish.
To be honest, this process takes a little while. I didn’t realize the filtering process was so slow. I wonder how patient teenagers are these days. I can’t imagine them patiently waiting for the filtering process to finish. Most teenagers can’t wait 30 seconds for a bag of microwave popcorn to pop before they can take the bag out. Now, I’m a little worried. Jokes aside, this is a very serious issue.
I can’t imagine how horrifying it must be for a parent to see their child suffering from alcohol poisoning in a hospital bed. To all the teenagers trying this trend, I hope the hangover doesn’t come back!
So, my thoughts on this trend…
Some trends and hacks are worthwhile, and I use some of them daily, but this one I don’t use much, and I don’t see the benefit in wasting time watching it drip.
So, if you’re over 21 and have nothing else to do, you should definitely try out this hack.
Even if it’s just to tell your friends that you tried it.
