TMC Innovation announces second batch of promising Danish health tech companies

A new group of Texas-Denmark BioBridge scientists has been selected for the Texas Medical Center Accelerator to work with Houston’s best advisors and leaders.

This is the second year that four Danish companies have been selected to participate in a special TMC Innovation Accelerator program to bring their technology to the American market. In a joint press release, Texas Medical Center (TMC) And that Bio Innovation Institute (BII)announced that participants will arrive in Houston on May 13 for the first session, which will address U.S. customer validation. Founders then participate in the entire program and have six months to plan their strategic development.

The selected companies are:

  • Aruba Health is pioneering AI-powered gut microbiome testing for infants.
  • AMPA Medical has developed InterPoc, a more independent alternative to the currently available types of stoma bags for ileostomy patients.
  • Droplet IV is a medical device that automatically cleans IV lines to reduce waste and make nurses’ jobs easier.
  • met system is a cancer metastasis platform that aims to predict which anti-cancer drugs will be most effective for each patient.

“Danish companies are making great strides in drug discovery and health tech development, so we are excited to welcome these startups to TMC,” said Devin Dunn, head of the Health Tech Accelerator. states in the release. “As they look to expand into the U.S. market, the collaborative environment fostered by our dedicated teams, programs, and clinical community will drive innovation, foster research collaboration, and further advance their technology here in Houston. It will help.”

The accelerator’s program builds on the success of the TMC Innovation (TMCi) Health Tech Accelerator program. TMC Denmark BioBridge was established in 2019 in cooperation between TMC and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
