SC to hear appeal against new criminal law passed by Parliament on Monday

The Supreme Court will on Monday hear petitions challenging the enactment of three new laws aimed at overhauling the Indian Penal Code, which are said to contain numerous “deficiencies and inconsistencies”.

A vacation bench comprising Justice Bela M. Trivedi and Justice Pankaj Mittal will hear the case.
