July’s conferences and events offer a diverse range of experiences catering to a variety of interests, from data science to cybersecurity to AI implementation. TuringFest 2024
Turing Fest takes a unique approach to industry conferences by bringing together engineering, product management, and growth leaders in an intentional cross-functional gathering. Now in its ninth year, the two-day event is expected to draw more than 1,000 attendees who can choose from 40 different sessions across four content tracks: Build, Grow, Lead, and Invest.
Topics will range from bridging the gap between product development and other business functions to leadership lessons and how to successfully embed AI into business processes. Speakers include Rand Fishkin, CEO and co-founder of SparkToro, Matt Lerner, founder of Systm, Colin Burns, former senior director at Apple, and Ross McNairn, CEO and co-founder of Wordsmith AI.

2024 USENIX Annual Technical Conference
The USENIX Association is a nonprofit organization founded in 1975 to bring together engineers, researchers, and practitioners working on advanced technologies. The USENIX Annual Technical Conference provides a forum for researchers to present and present their work in daily technical sessions and evening poster sessions.
The three-day event will feature academic presentations on machine learning, cloud and edge computing, security, storage, hardware, and more. Dr. Carole-Jean Wu, Director of AI Research at Meta, will deliver a keynote address on Scaling AI Sustainably. The conference will be co-located with the Symposium on Operating System Design and Implementation, which will bring together experts from academic and industrial backgrounds to discuss system software.

Data Connect Conference
DataConnect 2024 is one of the top 10 conferences for data science and analytics professionals, and is expected to attract around 2,000 attendees to learn, collaborate, and network on topics such as AI and machine learning, data engineering, and governance and risk management.
The three-day event will feature a variety of sessions ranging from pre-conference workshops, an exhibit hall, keynotes and panel discussions to hands-on tutorials and networking opportunities. Speakers include Sol Rashidi, founder of ExecutiveAI, and Dr. Joy Buolamwini, author of Unmasking AI.

Hope XV
Hackers on Planet Earth (HOPE) is an all-ages event that began in 1994 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of 2600 Magazine. Now in its 15th year, the event features talks, workshops, and themed “villages” where individuals can socialize on topics such as amateur radio, mobile privacy, and wearable technology.
Unlike other conferences, this three-day event will run from Friday to Sunday. More than 100 presentations are scheduled on topics including cybersecurity, personal security, hacking and hacktivism, AI and machine learning, and more. Presenters come from a variety of backgrounds, including international hackers, C-level executives, researchers, professors, activists, artists, hobbyists, and IT professionals. At least 30 hands-on workshops will be offered, teaching attendees how to solder, use an Arduino, get a ham radio license, and more.

MOMENTUM AI Global Summit
Momentum AI Global Summit attendees will have the opportunity to learn from current CIOs, CTOs, and CDOs who have successfully implemented AI within their organizations. The conference is designed to be more intimate, with most sessions taking the form of interviews or moderated panels.
The agenda, all centered around the use of AI in the enterprise, covers topics such as AI benchmarking, evaluation, adoption and scaling. Speakers include Teresa Heitsenrether, Chief Data & Analytics Officer at JPMorgan Chase, Rodrigo Madanes, Global Innovation AI Head at EY, and Rama Akkiraju, Vice President of AI at NVIDIA.

This conference is unlike any other, as its tagline states, “Summer Camp for Geeks.” Professional attendees can spend up to four days learning about a variety of technologies, platforms, and fields. There is even a Family Track covering STEM topics and allowing kids to interact with tech industry professionals.
Sessions will cover software development, including programming languages and tools, AI and machine learning, web development, marketing, and specialized skills. There will also be workshops offering hands-on instruction on topics such as Kubernetes, spatial computing, and content design. Keynote speakers include Kent Dodds, instructor at EpicWeb.dev, and Mark Techson, senior developer relations engineer at Google.
