Trade turnover between Tajikistan and China is on a growing trend, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon said at a press conference after his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Tajikistan. Azer News I will report.
“Trade turnover between the two countries increased by more than 24 percent last year compared to 2022, and we are seeing a trend towards even greater growth this year,” Rahmon said.
He stressed that total investment from China will flow into the Tajik economy from 2007 to 2023 exceed $4 billion, of which more than $2.6 billion will be direct investment.
“All in all, there are currently more than 700 Chinese-owned companies operating in Tajikistan,” Rahmon added.
He also noted that a forum of Tajikistani and Chinese business representatives and enterprises was recently held in Dushanbe, during which the two sides signed commercial contracts and cooperation agreements worth over $600 million.
Prime Minister Rahmon expressed interest in involving more Chinese business circles in promoting infrastructure projects.
Notably, following President Xi Jinping’s visit to Tajikistan, 29 important documents were signed between the two countries regulating relations in various fields.
