Former President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign sent out a call on Sunday for an officially authorized GoFundMe campaign that has raised more than $2.4 million in 24 hours for victims of the shooting at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania.

“From Trump: Have no fear. It is more important than ever that we come together,” the message to supporters read, along with a link to the fundraising effort.

Meredith O’Rourke, Trump’s chief financial officer, is listed as the organizer of the GoFundMe campaign, which as of Sunday afternoon had raised $2,464,550 from its original fundraising goal of $1 million.

Police officials said at least one person was killed in the attempted assassination of President Trump. Two others were seriously injured, State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens told reporters late Saturday night. All three were adult men. No further information about the victims, including the deaths, has been released at this time.

Trump was speaking at his final rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, before Republicans gathered in Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention when shots rang out and Secret Service agents rushed onto the stage to protect the former president. Trump said he was hit by a bullet that grazed his ear.

“I appreciate everyone’s compassion and prayers yesterday. Only God prevented the unthinkable,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Sunday morning, referring to the bullet that nearly struck his head.

Several prominent Trump supporters also donated to the fundraiser, including musician Kid Rock, who gave $50,000, and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswami, who donated $30,000.

A representative for the Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
