TV BRICS International Media Network launches a media project on the latest technological developments and world-class scientific discoveries made in Russia. The TV series “Laboratorium” (from the Latin laboratorium “laboratory”) will present the achievements of university and academic science, tell about successful scientific and technological enterprises and reveal the image of a modern scientist.
The show will premiere on TV BRICS on July 10, 2024. After airing in Russia, the Laboratorium series will be translated into English, Chinese, Portuguese and Spanish and distributed to TV BRICS media partners around the world.
The Laboratory series includes 13 episodes of 13 minutes each, each focusing on a unique discovery and the scientist or group of authors behind it. The show’s format is to explain complex developments in simple terms and make them clearly relatable. Additionally, the project host Lyuba, generated by a neural network, helps you understand the subject matter.
The Laboratory covers a wide range of topics, including promising trends in medical research, new methods for treatment and diagnostics of diseases, drug development, civil unmanned aerial vehicles, intelligent transport systems, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, technologies for sustainable agriculture, etc. The project allows viewers to delve deep into the history of discoveries, trace the stages of research into issues at an international level and understand what the inventions of Russian scientists mean for humanity and world science.
The show “Laboratorium” will be broadcast on TV BRICS on Wednesdays at 10:45 and 20:45 Moscow time, and rebroadcast on Saturdays and Sundays at 14:45. The first episode, on July 10, 2024, will talk about a bionic vision system that helps the blind regain their sight. The technology was developed by Russian experts Denis Kuleshov and Andrey Demchinsky.
Laboratorium Cycle was created during the Decade of Russian Science and Technology and the Russian Federation’s chairmanship of the BRICS Alliance, whose priorities include strengthening international cooperation in the field of technology transfer, joint support for high-tech industries, and expanding technological and scientific alliances with various countries. The media project is implemented in accordance with the State Programme “Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation” with the support of Joint Stock Company “Popov Radio”.
