Two people killed in shooting by ‘disgruntled former employee’ at Philadelphia area workplace

“I was dissatisfied. A “former employee” opened fire inside a linen rental laundry near Philadelphia on Wednesday, killing at least two people and wounding three others, authorities said.

Officials said gunfire erupted at Delaware County Linen in Chester around 8:30 a.m. EDT before the gunman was arrested.

“This is a tragedy and a story that plays out all too often across the United States of America,” Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer told reporters at the scene.

“A disgruntled employee breaks into a linen store (the Delaware County linen store behind us), shoots and kills five people, and shoots and kills five of his co-workers, leaving two dead and three sent to the hospital. It was done.”

The company rents, sells and cleans linens for local restaurants, hotels, country clubs, caterers, salons, spa rehabilitation centers and schools, according to its website. “Full Service Linen Company” was established in 1988.

“The suspect is in custody,” Stollsteimer said. “Unfortunately, there are two people who lost their lives. Today, a disgruntled former employee simply shows up at work. And there are three other people currently in the hospital and we are all praying for them. ”

Stollsteimer said the shootings took place both inside and outside the company.

Chester Police Chief Stephen Gretzky said the gunman fled in a car, but was stopped and captured by Trainer Borough Police.

Recommendation

Authorities did not immediately identify the gunman or explain what knocked him unconscious.

However, Stollsteimer told NBC Philadelphia about the suspect: “The employee was having an issue with a co-worker, but nothing that led to today’s events.”

“The people who were victims of this shooting today came to work to live the American dream. They came to work hard, they came to play the rules, they came to get ahead, and today we find two of them lying dead on the ground,” Stollsteimer continued.

“This is just a horrible, horrible tragedy and another example of someone who got a firearm that he shouldn’t have gotten and for some reason took his anger out on an employee.”

This is a developing story. Please check back for the latest information.
