LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Two suspects involved in two separate Southern California police pursuits were arrested Monday evening following the Memorial Day weekend.

Carjacking suspect arrested after pursuit on 405 Freeway from Los Angeles to Orange County

The suspect was taken into custody Monday night after a pursuit by authorities on the 405 Freeway from Los Angeles to Orange County.

The suspect is reportedly wanted in connection with a carjacking incident, but details were not immediately released.

AIR7 HD footage showed the suspect driving a black Toyota Tundra at near normal speeds and through very light traffic on the freeway as he drove through Los Angeles County and headed south to Orange County.

The suspect began slowing down around 8:20 p.m. and eventually came to a stop at the Center Avenue exit with his window rolled down and his hands outstretched and five California Highway Patrol troopers standing behind him.

After a moment, he opened the door but never fully exited the car, and he appeared to communicate with officers before taking action.

Shortly thereafter, five California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers slowly approached the suspect with their guns drawn, and one of the officers grabbed the suspect’s hand and detained him.

Reckless driver arrested after pursuit in Compton

The second pursuit, which began in the Compton area, involved someone reported as driving recklessly.

The suspect, who was seen throwing items from a pickup truck, remained primarily on surface roads in both the Compton and Long Beach areas.

The chase didn’t last long.

He entered a parking lot on South Fraley Avenue, where he was eventually taken into custody.
