BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florida Institute of Technology was honored to welcome a distinguished delegation from the U.S. Space Force’s Space Training and Readiness Command to campus.

Under the command of Maj. Gen. Tim Seiba, the STARCOM group explored dynamic partnership opportunities with Florida Tech President John Nicklow and other campus leaders.

The group also toured key facilities on campus, including the Olin Engineering Complex and the L3Harris Student Design Center, spoke with a student team designing a mechanical manatee, and finally visited the esports facility before concluding their visit with a personal meeting.

“Florida Tech’s central location on the Space Coast and long history in space and defense make it a perfect fit for STARCOM’s training and research efforts,” Nicklow said.

“We look forward to combining our strengths and expertise to innovate and grow together.”
