Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve planned to get a first-hand look at Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark after Clark was left off the USA Basketball Women’s Olympic Team.
Reeve is the head coach of the national team and was among those criticized for leaving Clark out of the roster despite her only playing a handful of games in the WNBA.

ESPN’s Myron Medcalf revealed that Clark asked Reeve about playing for the national team in the future before the Lynx played against the Fever, and Reeve appeared to scoff at the question.
“Why on earth would I need to answer a question about the national team,” Reeve said. “I wear the Lynx and I’m the head coach of the national team, but I’m not the commissioner. Does anyone else want to say anything?”
Reeve also downplayed the so-called Clark Effect at Target Center.
Indy Star’s Chloe Peterson had another question for Reeve about the possibility of a pro-Fever crowd.

“I don’t really care,” she said.
“I don’t care about anything,” she added.
The Lynx entered the game in third place in the WNBA standings with a 16-7 record, while the Fever improved to 10-14 with a win over the Phoenix Mercury.

Indiana entered Sunday’s game ranked seventh in the standings.
