The latest update on Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton’s hamstring injury was published by NBC Sports Boston.
The Indiana Pacers were forced to finish Game 2 of the 2024 Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics without their best player, Tyrese Haliburton, due to a hamstring injury.
Haliburton left the game in the third quarter and did not return, and the Pacers lost the game 126-110 and fell to 0-2 in the series.
“He was in pain at halftime,” Pacers coach Rick Carlisle told reporters after Game 2. “He worked through the whole halftime. He went out there and tried his hardest. I don’t know how it felt for the other guy because I’ve never spoken to him, but it just wasn’t going well. The trainers decided they needed to bring him back in and get him treated, so he didn’t play.”
How is Haliburton doing heading into Game 3 in Indiana on Saturday night?
“This is the same hamstring that he injured in January and missed 10 games,” NBA insider Shams Charania said on FanDuel TV on Friday. “We don’t know how serious it is. He addressed it at halftime, got some treatment, came back and tried to play in the third quarter. … He’ll be examined on Friday to see exactly how serious it is.”
Haliburton injured his left hamstring during a game against the Celtics in Indiana on Jan. 8.
The Pacers have a historically good offense, with seven players averaging at least 10 points per game so far in the 2024 playoffs, but it would obviously be a major setback for Indiana if Haliburton misses this series.
Not only is Haliburton a talented scorer (20.1 points per game in the regular season), he’s also one of the league’s best playmaking guards, leading the league in assists during the regular season (10.9 per game) and ranking fourth in the playoffs (8.2 per game).
