Match 38 of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League Two was a tough day for Nepal. The bowlers couldn’t defend the target well enough, and the Americans won by three runs in Dallas. Despite Nepal scoring a massive 286, America won by 291 runs in the final over.

Nepal was confident after defeating the USA 2-0 in the last three T20I series. Nepal had one win in eight matches in ICC CWC League 2.

Team USA captain Monank Patel utilized five bowlers and one wicket shared between three players each. Monank Patel 62 (76) and Shayan Jahangir 104 (97) worked together and the duo scored 161 runs for the second wicket. America needed just 17 runs in the final two overs.

Shayan Jahangir scored 104 points (97 points) and was named Player of the Year in 100 games.

Harmeet Singh scored 57 off 44 balls, scoring 29 off 37 balls in a 71-run partnership with Shadri Van Schalkwyk to take Team USA closer to the goal.

Captain Rohit Paudel scored 96 runs off 75 balls and his team were 286-10 after 50 overs, but Paudel missed out on a well-deserved century by four runs. Batsmen Anil Sarr added 98 runs for the first wicket with 56 (62) and Aasif Sheikh 52 (53). Aarif Sheikh scored 37 points.

The United States won six of the nine games in this tournament, and moved up to second place in the points rankings with their seventh win in the tournament. Nepal played nine games but lost in the seventh game, leaving them in seventh place in the points standings.

USA Cricket posted on social media

Nepal will next play Scotland on Tuesday, while the USA will play Scotland at Grand Prairie Stadium on Thursday.
