While the United States Rugby Union is still about seven years away from hosting the Rugby World Cup, make no mistake, the journey to 2031 has already begun.
And on July 5, the Eagles will get a good idea of just how long that road will be.
USA Rugby will take on arch rival Romania at 8pm ET from SeatGeek Stadium in Chicago, and the match will be streamed live on FloRugby and the FloSports app.
The match pits a Romanian team that participated in the last Rugby World Cup (where the results were less than impressive) against an Eagles team with a burgeoning development program and a lot to prove.
Romania failed to win a single game in the “Pool of Death” they were placed into for the 2023 Rugby World Cup, suffering heavy losses to eventual winners South Africa and Ireland, then ranked number one in the world.
2024 America Series: USA vs Romania
But even if Spain was disqualified, at least they were in France. The US team failed to qualify for the 2023 Rugby World Cup despite being ranked higher than Romania.
Now, with Scott Lawrence in charge, the first test comes in the US Series, with just one week to go until the team takes on Scotland Rugby in Washington DC on July 12, which will also be streamed on FloRugby and the FloSports app.
