LAS VEGAS — The Oklahoma State football team, anchored by a core of returning offensive players, received the most selections to the USA Today Sports Network All-Big 12 team, which was announced Monday ahead of the league’s football media day at Allegiant Stadium.
The Cowboys had six players selected across the team, four of them on the offensive line.
Arizona was runner-up with five selections, while conference champion Utah had four.
Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II was named the NBA’s Player of the Year, while UCF incoming quarterback KJ Jefferson was named Newcomer of the Year.
Kansas State was projected to finish second in the USA Today Network poll, but no players were selected for the team. However, Chris Klieman was named preseason Coach of the Year.
Colorado had two players selected to the team, but they were both the same player: versatile junior Travis Hunter, who appeared on every poll by reporters covering the league’s teams, with half selecting him as a defensive back and the other half selecting him as an all-purpose player.
