Colorado Springs, Colorado (June 5, 2024) – USA Volleyball is proud to announce the 12 players who will compete for the U.S. Women’s National Team at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The roster includes eight athletes who won gold medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and four who will be making their Olympic debut in Paris.
Outside hitter Jordan Larson will be competing in her fourth Olympic Games. She won a silver medal in the 2012 London Olympics, a bronze medal in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and a gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics.
Outside hitter Kelsey Robinson-Cook will be competing in her third Olympic Games. She competed in 2016 (bronze medal) and 2020 (gold medal).
Setter Jordyn Poulter, libero Justine Wong-Orantes, opposites Annie Drewes and Jordan Thompson and middle blockers Chiaka Ogbogu and Hailey Washington will all be playing in their second Olympics after winning gold medals in Tokyo.
Setter Lauren Carlini, outside hitters Katherine Plummer and Avery Skinner and middle blocker Dana Rettke will be making their Olympic debuts in Paris.
“We have a lot to be grateful for in our women’s national team. We have a lot of quality people – dedicated, thoughtful, hard-working women – with a lot of talent who have very high levels of both interpersonal skills and volleyball skills. Our core 25-person women’s national team has done a fantastic job over the past few months preparing to bring out the best in each member around them as we look ahead to the Paris Olympics.”
“These selections are both bittersweet and sweet. The bittersweet part is that we cannot send all 25 of these special women to Paris, but we will hold them in our hearts and thoughts and they will help us grow until the last ball drops.”
“We are excited to announce the Olympic roster. We are overjoyed with this group and our program. This group of athletes will perform at their best and be the strongest team in perhaps the most competitive Olympic competition in history. We can’t wait to see them ‘Let It Rip’ in Paris!”
The five Olympic alternates for the U.S. women’s national team are 2020 Olympic gold medalist setter Mika Hancock, libero Morgan Hentz, outside hitter Ali Franti, outside hitter/opposite Kalia Lanier and middle blocker Anna Stevenson-Hall.
The team is awaiting the announcement of official replacements who will be able to travel to Paris and replace injured players during the tournament.
“Our five reserves are a special group with a difficult but important task,” Kiraly said. “They have to play their best selves every day, do everything they can to make the team better, and be prepared for injuries and illnesses. No one is better equipped to handle those tasks than these five ladies.”
The U.S. women’s team entered the 2024 season ranked No. 2 in the world. The team has competed in 12 Olympic Games, including the last 10. The U.S. women’s team competed in the 1980 Moscow Olympics, which the United States boycotted.
The U.S. women’s Olympic team has won one gold medal (2020), three silver medals (1984, 2008, 2012) and two bronze medals (1992, 2016).
The women’s Olympic competition schedule and pools will be announced at the conclusion of the 2024 Volleyball Nations League qualifying round, which concludes June 16. The U.S. women’s team will compete in the final qualifying round of the Volleyball Nations League next week in Fukuoka, Japan.
Indoor volleyball for the 2024 Olympic Games will be held at South Paris Arena 1.
