USA wins first Olympic gold medal in men’s 4x100m freestyle relay

The United States won its first gold medal. Paris Olympics Following a strong showing in the 4x100m freestyle relay on Saturday.

The team consisted of Jack Alexie, Chris Juliano, Hunter Armstrong, and Caleb Dressel — They finished 1.07 seconds ahead of the silver-medal-winning Australian team. Italy won the bronze medal.

The U.S. team has won the gold medal in the event in 10 of the last 13 Olympic Games. This is Dressel’s eighth Olympic gold medal.

On Saturday, Sarah Bacon, 27, and Cassidy Cook, 29, won their first medals for the United States in Paris. Won a silver medal in the 3m synchronized diving eventThe American duo earned 314.64 points, placing them second behind China’s Zhang Yani and Chen Yiwen.

Katie Ledecky wins bronze medal in the women’s 400m freestyle

Katie Ledecky missed out on the gold medal in the women’s 400m freestyle on Saturday, defended by Australia’s Ariarne Titmuss. Olympic title.

Titmuss, known as “The Terminator,” handed Ledecky just her second defeat at La Defense arena in Paris, following the tournament the 27-year-old American won in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Titmuss, with her nails painted Australian yellow, led from start to finish and faced her toughest challenge from Canadian phenom Summer McIntosh, but won comfortably in three minutes, 57.49 seconds.

McIntosh took silver in 3:58.37, and Ledecky followed with bronze in 4:00.86.

The silver medalist was Summer McIntosh of the Canadian team, the gold medalist was Ariarne Titmus of the Australian team, and the bronze medalist was Katie Ledecky of the United States.

After Saturday’s race, Ledecky has six individual gold medals, which remains the most ever. Female swimmers in Olympic historyHer third-place finish was her 11th Olympic medal overall.

Titmuss now has three Olympic individual wins. She won the 200 meters and 400 people free in Tokyohas beaten Ledecky and is expected to complete the same double in Paris.

Ledecky isn’t done yet. She missed the opportunity to face Titmus again in the 200m freestyle, but the American is likely to win gold in both events. 800 and 1,500 race.

USA wins silver in women’s relay

The U.S. team won the silver medal in the 4×100 meter relay, losing to Australia. China won the bronze medal.

The U.S. relay team, including Kate Douglas, Gretchen Walsh, Tori Huske and Simone Manuel, set a new U.S. record for the event with a time of 3:30.20, just under two seconds shy of Australia’s time of 3:28.92, a new Olympic record and their fourth consecutive Olympic victory in the event.

Australia, which holds the world record in the event, also held the previous Olympic record of 3 minutes 29.69 seconds, set in Tokyo.

The United States has won five medals so far: one gold, two silver and two bronze. U.S. cyclist Chloe Dygert won the bronze medal in the women’s individual time trial in road cycling.
