Cary, North Carolina – USA Baseball today announced the rosters for the 2024 Collegiate National Team Training Camp, which will compete in a two-game Stars vs. Stripes intrasquad series. The 2024 roster includes 55 players, primarily undrafted, from across college baseball.
Varsity training camp begins June 25 with the first game of the Stars vs. Stripes series on June 26 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. The second game of the series will be played on June 27, after which the 55 players will split into two teams: one to compete in the 21st USA vs. Chinese Taipei International Friendship Series and the other to play against selected teams from the Appalachian League and Coastal Plain League on a four-game summer league tour.

This year’s training camp roster features nine USA Baseball alumni, including two players from last year’s University National Team. Ben Abelto (TCU) and Jace Laviolette (Texas A&M) is returning to Cary to compete in training camp after leading Team USA to 7-3 records against Chinese Taipei and Japan last summer. The two-time USA Baseball alumnus Gavin Grahovac (Texas A&M) Stephen Milam (LSU) will raise the Star-Spangled Banner for the third time in 2024. R.J. Austin (Vanderbilt) will return to the U.S. team after playing for the under-18 national team in 2021. Additionally, five players from the gold medal-winning 2019 under-15 team will reunite for training camp. Drew Burress (Georgia Institute of Technology) Matthew Matijs (North Carolina), Ethan McElvain (Vanderbilt), Milam, and Nolan Shubert (Oklahoma).
In addition to Abelt and Laviolette, four other players will be returning to Cary for training camp for the second consecutive year. Alton Davis II (Georgia) Anthony Martinez (University of California, Irvine) Matt Scott (Stanford University), Pablo Torres (Bethune Cookman).
Additionally, seven players participating in this year’s training camp have previously participated in the USA Baseball National Team Development Program (NTDP). Grahovac and Milam have each participated in two NTDPs. Dean Curley (Tennessee) Daniel Cuvet (Miami), McElvain, and Liam Peterson (Florida) from the 2021 edition of the event. Martinez participated in the 14U NTDP in 2018.
Thirty-seven schools and nine conferences are represented on rosters for the 2024 training camp. Vanderbilt leads all schools with four players on the 55-man roster. Georgia, Louisville, North Carolina State and North Carolina follow with three each. The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) leads all conferences with 10 players on their rosters, followed by the Southeastern Conference (SEC) with eight.

The varsity teams will kick off their 2024 schedule with the annual Stars vs. Stripes Series on June 26 and 27 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. Following the series, International Friendship Series players will compete in the 21st USA vs. Chinese Taipei International Friendship Series from June 29 to July 3, while Summer League Tour players will play four games against select teams from the Appalachian League and Coastal Plain League from June 29 to July 2. The summer will then conclude with a matchup between the two U.S. teams on July 4 at Segra Stadium in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
