Warming trend with isolated storms
Look out from our press camera. How are you doing, Olga? Thinking about planning an outdoor vacation? Well, here’s the forecast. This will be a hit with many people, especially if you plan on going out. The big picture national outlook for that Friday into Monday is that we’re expecting mild weather here in the Southwest, which will be a little warmer for the actual Memorial Day holiday. If you’re headed to the northern plains or Midwest, watch out for patchy storms. Some of them may become seriously ill during those four days, with southern and eastern states expecting a hot and humid southern state. Therefore, mix and match your bags depending on the direction. One thing I can say is that it’s warm in Albuquerque right now. The temperature at this time is 79 degrees, and in some parts of the southern region it can get quite warm into the low 90s. We are sitting very comfortably in the sunport with clear skies and 80 degree temperatures. So, it was a fun time, but the afternoon was a little windy, with wind gusts of 24 mph already at Sunport. Are you planning to fire up that grill later tonight? Well, between 4 and 7, it looks pretty good in the early 80s. Winds will be gentle from the south and southwest, but temperatures will drop slightly after sunset. Some forecasts for the weekend also track winds, especially on Saturday. Wind gusts are expected to reach 35 to 40 mph this afternoon and evening. So Saturday is likely to be a windy day. But all in all, it’s going to be a great weekend. Tomorrow’s weather forecast will have to get through Thursday and Friday. First, let’s go back to the 80’s. For many of us, even in his low 70s region of the Northern Hemisphere, the 7-day forecast shows a fair degree of consistency. We’ll be in the low to mid 80s through Sunday, then we’ll start to see a slight warm up heading into Memorial Day Monday.
