If there’s one thing Stephen Curry knows well, it’s the game of basketball.
And popcorn.
Yes, the Warriors superstar is not only a four-time NBA champion and the league’s all-time leading three-point shooter, he’s also a well-known salty snack expert.
Curry is often spotted eating popcorn on team planes and at various arenas around the country — he even released his own ranking of the quality of popcorn at each NBA arena in 2019 — so he knows his stuff.
In fact, his knowledge is so highly valued that 310 Provisions, the group in charge of food for the Los Angeles Clippers’ new Intuit Dome facility, which opens for the 2024-25 NBA season, outsourced it to Curry for input on the venue’s popcorn.
“Butter Popcorn is the choice of Stephen Curry, the man who makes the best popcorn,” Jillian Zucker, CEO of Halo Sports & Entertainment, told the Los Angeles Times. “Stephen Curry actually ranks all the popcorn establishments, and we were like, ‘We want our popcorn to be the best,’ so we thought maybe he’d come in and try it. So we asked him, and he said he would.”
“So he went through maybe 10 different options and I was like, ‘How much does this guy know about popcorn?’ But he got in and started talking about popcorn and explaining it to us. [He said]”Good popcorn is crispy, butterfly-shaped, and melts in your mouth.”
He really does do it all, guys.
Curry will have to update that list now, and it’s safe to assume Intuit Dome Popcorn will rank highly.
