Watch as a FedEx plane lands nose-first after landing gear fails

On Wednesday, a Boeing 767 cargo plane operated by FedEx encountered several jolts and sparks as it attempted to land at Turkey’s Istanbul airport with its front landing gear removed.

A cargo plane operated by FedEx was flying from Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris when the pilot of the plane crashed into a control tower at Istanbul Airport when its landing gear broke, according to a statement from Turkey’s Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu. He reported that. I had failed to open it. The official said airport staff immediately took action and helped the plane land while remaining on the runway. Uralor said emergency response, medical teams and necessary firefighting equipment were also in place and on standby.

Video footage of the landing showed the plane lurch forward and begin dragging its nose across the runway before touching down, creating a cloud of dust and sparks. Eventually, the aircraft will touch the ground and stop. Once the plane comes to a stop, a fire truck starts dousing the plane with water.

“With proper guidance from the staff, the aircraft landed smoothly on the fuselage,” Uralor said.

No injuries reported

There were two pilots on board the plane, who underwent medical tests after landing, Uralor said in a statement. No injuries were reported.

The runway where the plane landed was temporarily closed to all flights as multiple government agencies converged on the scene. A video shared by the minister shows crew and staff gathered around the aircraft, while a fire engine and an ambulance are parked beside it.

Uralor said an investigation into the accident was underway, but did not elaborate further on why the landing gear failed.

Another problem with the Boeing plane?Don’t be fooled by the headline.

The cargo plane involved in the crash is nearly 10 years old and was delivered to FedEx in 2014, a Boeing spokesperson said. After delivery, the operator will oversee the ongoing maintenance of the aircraft in service. Reuters reported that the Boeing 767 cargo plane is one of the most common cargo planes.

Meanwhile, FedEx said in a statement to USA TODAY that FedEx Express Flight 6268 was flying from Paris to Istanbul when it encountered a problem upon landing.

FedEx said there were “no reports of injuries to the crew.” “We are coordinating with law enforcement authorities and will provide additional information as it becomes available,” he said.

The Boeing incident has been in the news in recent months after a series of high-profile incidents, but aviation experts insist there is no need to worry about flying.

“There’s no need to worry that there’s something systemic wrong with the airline industry,” Clint Balogh, an associate professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, previously told USA TODAY.
