WEBER CITY, Va. (WJHL) — A woman was arrested this week after allegedly leading Tennessee State Police on a chase and then barricading herself in a restroom at a local business, according to a report from the Weber City Police Department.

The incident began early Tuesday morning when multiple Tennessee law enforcement agencies called off a high-speed pursuit at the Virginia state line, according to a story posted by the police department Saturday.

“A few hours later, a resident reported that someone in Tennessee had stopped by their home and admitted to fleeing from police,” the post read. Police said officers then found the vehicle abandoned next to the Food City store in Weber City, and a police dog named Apache was deployed to track down and apprehend the suspect.

As a police dog was en route to the scene, a Scott County Sheriff’s Office trooper spotted a woman matching the description of the suspect, who then fled on foot, according to the post.

According to police, the suspect then ran into a local business and barricaded himself in a restroom with the animals. K-9 Apache, Scott County Animal Control and the Scott County Sheriff’s Office assisted Weber City Police in arresting the woman and subduing the animals in the restroom.

The woman, whose identity has not been released, was arrested and is awaiting extradition to Tennessee on pursuit charges, according to the post.
