A strange drink that combines marshmallows and Coca-Cola is becoming a TikTok sensation, with soda lovers with a sweet tooth rooting for the drink.
Called “Fuwa Fuwa Cola,” this sweet drink combines the creaminess of marshmallows with the crunch of ice-cold soda.
Content creator Emma Grace and her grandmother, affectionately known as “MeMama,” seem to be the driving force behind this trend, tasting the drink in a viral video and giving it a 10 out of 10.
They used a spatula to coat the inside of the glass with a generous amount of marshmallow, added plenty of ice, and then poured in a regular can of Coca-Cola.
“I could drink like four of these,” Emma Grace says in the video, which has been viewed 3.7 million times.
The pair swear by the drink and encouraged other TikTok users to give it a try, with hundreds of videos tagged #fluffycoke.
Some users have tried to vary the recipe by swapping regular Coca-Cola for Diet Coke, while others have replaced it with Pepsi, root beer, Dr. Pepper, flavored sparkling water, or even coffee.
One creative foodie even went so far as to make a roasted marshmallow version of the drink, toasting a marshmallow until browned and then adding it to the drink.
“Yo, I’m joining the trend,” creator Jessica Barstow captioned a video of her trying a fluffy Coke Zero.
“It tastes like a sweet cola,” content creator Armin Arshe explained in a TikTok video.
Despite dessert lovers claiming the drink was “delicious,” other tasters were not convinced.
On Twitter, critics called the trend “overrated” and claimed it “ruins” the fizzy, bubbly drink, while on TikTok, users were stunned at the idea of adding more sugar (from Fluff) to a full-sugar cola, with creator Hannah Crump calling it a “waste of $4” and saying the dessert-like drink “isn’t what it’s about.”
“Putting sugar in Coke is crazy,” one user commented on the TikTok video.
“That’s too sweet lol,” another person wrote online.
“I felt this video affected my blood sugar,” joked another.
“This is like diabetes in a cup!” said one.
