A new TikTok meme called “Gen Z Boss and a Mini” has already racked up millions of views, but what exactly is it and why is it making such a big impact?
One of the latest trends making the rounds on TikTok is the “Gen Z Boss and a Mini” meme, but what does it mean and how can people get involved? Here’s a rundown.
Gen Z is sparking a new trend on social media, with the latest TikTok memes focusing on the “attitude” of young female office workers in their 20s going viral on the platform.
As part of this trend, the video showcases various quirks, items and aesthetic sensibilities shared by many office-working women in their 20s.
Explaining the “Generation Z Boss and Mini” Trend
The trend first gained attention after TBH Skincare posted a video to its official TikTok account in which its female staff members began chanting random phrases, with some describing themselves as “tiny t-ties” and having “attitude.”
The chant also includes women yelling phrases like: “Five feet three inches tall and attitude. Secret pouches and trench coats. New Frank green and sneaky links. Fake tan hands and hoops.”
The video has been viewed more than 3.8 million times, with many on social media criticising Gen Z as “embarrassing”.
To add fuel to the fire, the same group of women featured in the original TBH Skincare video posted a follow-up video in which they addressed the negativity and backlash they faced online.
The backlash included comments saying they “hated” the video, while others called for “bring back the gender pay gap.”
Instead of responding verbally, the women decided to display their comments by dancing around the office again.
The “Gen Z and a Mini” TikTok tag currently has over 146.1 million posts on the platform, with many other videos in this trend also garnering millions of views and engagement.
