The stage is set, the players are here, and the United States is ready to host and play in its first-ever T20 Cricket World Cup.

The United States will face Canada, also making its T20 international cricket debut, in the tournament’s opening match on Saturday at Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Dallas.

The ninth T20 World Cup will see 20 teams converge on the United States and West Indies to play 55 matches for the coveted trophy. England begin the year as the defending champions, having defeated Pakistan in the 2022 T20 World Cup final in Melbourne, Australia.

2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup start time, opening ceremony

The 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will kick off at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Dallas with opening ceremonies taking place 10 minutes before the opening ball and immediately after the toss, an ICC spokesperson told USA Today, but details of the ceremony and performances are being kept secret.

The opening round of the tournament is scheduled to kick off at 8:30pm local time/9:30pm ET on Saturday, June 1, with the opening ceremony likely to take place at approximately 8:20pm local time/ET.

USA vs Canada: How to watch the 2024 T20 opener in the US on TV and streaming

According to the ICC, the match is scheduled to kick off at 9:30pm ET/8:30pm local time on Saturday, June 1, and will be broadcast exclusively on WillowTV. You can also access WillowTV via streamers such as Fubo and Sling.

Fans can also stream the match on different devices via the Cricbuzz app and live scores will be available on the Cricbuzz website.

Scorecards, match highlights and behind-the-scenes footage will also be available to fans on ICC.tv, while live radio commentary from the BBC will be available on the ICC website and app.

How long will an ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match last?

According to the ICC, a T20 World Cup match will last on average around three hours and 20 minutes, including both innings and the innings break.

Fun Park

The opening match of the tournament will also be broadcast live from the T20 World Cup Fan Park at the Oculus World Trade Center in New York and Epic Central in Grand Prairie, Texas.

The ICC said of the Fan Park: “The park will feature live entertainment including DJs, food and beverage outlets, cricket ambassadors and family-friendly activities, making it an unmissable experience for fans from all over the world.”
