On today’s episode, Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger and SI’s Pat Ford weigh in on the future of the SEC after a very eventful offseason, and discuss how the addition of Oklahoma and Texas to the conference following the spring meetings has created a noticeable change in atmosphere among coaches and administrators.
He also weighs in on the obvious question of who will be the next great head coach to dominate the SEC following Nick Saban’s retirement in January, with DeLeenegger naming some favorites to watch, including Texas’ Steve Sarkisian, Georgia’s Kirby Smart and Tennessee’s Josh Heupel, among others.
After the break, they reacted to the recent news that a bill is under consideration in North Carolina that would require UNC and NC State to play games against smaller programs in the state each year, and Wetzel shared the opportunity for UNC and NC State to propose funding to the state to agree to this.
To close the show, Wetzel told the story of a Nebraska woman who was found alive after being taken to a funeral home, and the audience erupted in laughter at her recovery thanks to the Nebraska football program.
