There will be a change of government in the United States in the coming months, as the 2024 presidential election will be held on Tuesday, November 4th. Former US President Donald Trump is running as a Republican, and current Vice President Kamala Harris is fighting for the Republican Party. Democratic Party. CNN conducted the poll from Wednesday, September 18 to Sunday, October 6, and found that 49% of voters currently support Harris, while 47% are leaning toward Trump.
On USAO’s campus, Dr. Holly Hatfield, assistant professor of economics, posted simple tips on how to register to vote and vote on the go in Oklahoma to educate college students. Her information paper lists three ways to vote: go home, go home for an early absentee vote, or request an absentee ballot in advance.
Five USAO students were randomly voted on who they would vote for and why at the Lawson Clubhouse in mid-October.

“I’m voting for Kamala because I’ve seen what President Trump can do for the country, and I really don’t support that.”

“I’m going to vote for Kamala Harris. I like that she actually has a solid plan. [Trump]. In a debate a few months ago, unlike Trump, she actually had a plan, he didn’t, and he had an idea. That’s exactly what he said – he had ideas, but nothing was set in stone. Before I dive headfirst into anything, I want to have a solid foundation. ”

“I’m voting for Kamala Harris because President Trump’s campaign violates the Constitution.”
Nat Freihover, junior political science major
“[I’m voting for] Kamala Harris and Walz have different reasons, but at the end of the day, I’m more sympathetic to their policy stances and what they are like as people is what really matters to me. Where do they want this country to go? ”
Despite the nearly complete split in the CNN poll, 100% of the five students randomly polled by USAO said they would vote for Harris in the next election.
