I know you’ve been away from home and Yankee Stadium recently.
That means he hasn’t been seen for about a week now.
Ah, but they’re struggling.
They miss you.
They need you. They need you to play in the press box.
Well, apparently that’s me, baby.
It’s all about me, Jordan.
You know what the biggest fan bases are in America? The second biggest fan base is the Yankees, and the first biggest fan base is all the people who hate the Yankees.
And whenever the Yankees are on the suffering bus, the other half of America rejoices. By the way, America thinks they’re the Reds, but they’re actually the Yankees.
Ah, I know what you’re saying.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, it’s true.
it’s true.
It’s funny, I say that a lot, because I think you saw just yesterday that the Reds were trying to adopt an American team as their team name.
You’ve seen a lot of teams do this, the Reds have done it the last few years as a young, gritty bunch, but this American team versus American team, and the American team went to the Bronx and told the Yankees it was American versus Yankees.
They said, um, you’re not very good.
This is actually not that big of a problem.
Cincinnati Reds, I don’t know if you saw this, but I should have tweeted this clip.
I know Robert Oh tweeted about this, but when the Yankees lost yesterday, Michael Kay was disgusted and said the Yankees lost this time and got swept by the Cincinnati Reds.
Well, now we’re adding sound effects, but the tone was basically dismissive, disappointed, condescending, everything you’d expect from a Yankees–adjacent voice.
But yeah, I mean, this is an extension of some pretty tough times for old-time Americans.
