Islamabad, June 1 (UNI) The wife of Vietnam’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nguyen Thien Phuong was reported missing on Saturday. Police said she was found four hours later in a park.
“Islamabad Police tracked down the wife of the Vietnamese ambassador within four hours,” Islamabad Police said in a post on X. “Seven teams are investigating with the help of Safe City cameras and mobile phone technology.”
The ambassador’s wife was sent home along with her husband, he added.
She had been reported missing to the police via a call to helpline 15 earlier that day.
An Islamabad police spokesman said they had tracked down the wife of Ambassador Nguyen Thien Phuong after a four-hour search, adding that seven teams were busy searching for her with the help of Safe City cameras and mobile phone technology.
The spokesman confirmed that the woman was found and sent home with her husband, adding that she had been in the megazone at F9 Park.
“The ambassador’s wife left home at 11am after an argument with her husband,” he explained.
According to the ambassador, his wife had gone out for her usual walk at 11am but never returned home, and, even more worrying, her mobile phone had been switched off and she could not be contacted.
Later, Inspector General of Police Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi arrived at the Ambassador’s residence along with Inspector General of Police Ali Raza, accompanied by members of the investigation team.
Ahead of the meeting, the Islamabad Police Chief was briefed by SSP Safe City, SSP (Investigations) and SSP (Operations). “The safety of all ambassadors residing in Islamabad is our top priority,” the IGP said.
