Wittstock Music Festival returns to Western Iowa Tech campus

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Western Iowa Tech Community College held its annual music festival “Wittstock” Friday night.

The 13th annual event was organized by Western Iowa Tech’s Mass Communication Department and Student Activities. Engineering students worked with video and audio.

Mass Communications Coordinator Chris Mansfield said the event became a student issue.

“The kids literally started building things and putting things together in January and started learning in a class called Live Sound Production and how this works,” Mansfield said. Ta. “When it comes to video, we do shows every week, so they’re not used to it.”

Audiovisual Club President Chase Foy moderated the event and said he was grateful for the opportunity.

“This is something I’ve always wanted to do, and being able to do it has made me a better person. I don’t know what else to say,” Foy said. said. “I’m really grateful to my teachers. They’ve really helped me through this, and I’m really grateful to them. And this is something that students can seriously do. I think it really shows that it can be achieved.”

Participating bands were TJ Figh, Fair to Compare, and Above The Covers. The festival was free and featured raffles and games accompanied by live music.
