Referring to the redevelopment of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Corridor in Varanasi, the Prime Minister said the place has now attracted global attention in a new way.
“After 500 years, Lord Rama is enshrined in a temple in Ayodhya and the Bindhyavasini Dam Corridor project is nearing completion. With the ropeway in place, there will be no need for Shravan Kumar to carry his aged parents on his shoulders for ‘darshan’,” he said.
A character from the Ramayana, Shravan Kumar, sets out on a pilgrimage carrying his blind aged parents on his shoulders.
“If you look into the manifestos of the Indian National Congress and the Indian Socialist Party, you can see their pro-Pakistan stance,” Adityanath said at an election rally in Varanasi for Union Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey, who is running from Chandauli constituency in the Indian Lok Sabha.
“They propose to extend the benefits of reservations meant for Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes to Muslims too. But PM Modi has emphasised that no force on earth can undermine the existing structure of reservations,” he said.
The BJP leader alleged that the Congress and the Socialist Party “are incapable of ensuring security, promoting development and promoting the welfare of the underprivileged. With Modi at the helm, development, welfare, security and protection of India’s cultural heritage will be guaranteed.”
