Dominguez to DH in Single A
Boone provided an exciting update on Dominguez’s path to return to the major leagues following Tommy John surgery on September 20, 2023.The 21-year-old is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with the Single-A Tampa Tarpons on Tuesday. Boone said Dominguez will serve as DH for two weeks before returning to the field.
Dominguez is still ranked as the Yankees’ top prospect, but he has dropped to No. 37 overall in the MLB Pipeline rankings.
In the 2023 season, he batted .265 with 22 doubles, 15 home runs, 76 RBIs, and 83 walks in 118 games in Double-A (109 games) and Triple-A (9 games). Dominguez was then promoted to the majors in September, hitting .258 with a double and four home runs in eight games with the Yanks before suffering a torn UCL.
