LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said that ahead of the upcoming Assembly by-elections to 10 Lok Sabha seats in the state and the 2027 state assembly elections, everyone needs to be active.
Addressing a State Working Committee meeting at the Bhimrao Ambedkar Auditorium of Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University, Chief Minister Yogi stressed that the BJP flag must be hoisted again in the state.
“Everyone needs to start working from now for the by-elections to the 10 assembly seats in the state and the 2027 state assembly elections,” he added, saying along with MPs in the Lok Sabha and the Sena, state legislators, state legislators, district councillors, mayors, block pramukhs, speakers and councillors, everyone should start preparing for the 2027 state assembly elections from today.
“We must hoist the BJP flag again in the state. BJP leaders and activists must be active on social media and immediately deny any rumours,” he said.
Yogi said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the government has constantly kept pressure on the opposition parties in Uttar Pradesh and achieved great success in 2014, 2017, 2019 and 2022.
“Given the percentage of votes that went to the BJP in 2014 and subsequent elections, it stands to reason that it will be successful in getting the same number of votes in 2024 as well, but vote shifting and overconfidence have dented our expectations. The Opposition parties, which earlier had admitted defeat and sat back, are again jumping up and down today,” he added.
The Chief Minister said that after the 2022 elections, the Opposition had resorted to violence, and all our workers felt that, in reality, the dawn of a mafia-free Uttar Pradesh belongs to these miscreants.
“Today, with your support, we have succeeded in eliminating the mafia from Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, the wait of 500 years also ended when Shri Ramlalla sat in the temple at Ayodhya,” the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said.
The Prime Minister said social media platforms should be utilised as much as possible.
“Using this social media, opposition forces and foreigners have hatched a conspiracy and it has been successful. We are people with a nationalistic mission. BJP activists must see what is happening on social media. We must immediately deny the rumours,” Yogi alleged.
