A heated exchange took place at the entrance of Adiala Jail between lawyers representing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Aleema Khan, the sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, following a meeting between her and other family members with the incarcerated former prime minister.

According to reports, the confrontation occurred as Aleema Khan and the lawyers were leaving the jail after their meeting with Imran Khan.

At the entrance gate, Aleema Khan confronted the lawyer leaders, accusing them of mishandling the situation and questioning their motives.

She firmly told the lawyers that only those with specific responsibilities should be allowed to meet with her brother, Imran Khan, inside the jail.

“No lawyer without a responsibility will be allowed inside,” she stated. “What kind of drama are you all playing? Everyone comes to the jail just to meet him. Our brother is inside, we love him, and we would die for him.”

Aleema Khan also made it clear that no lawyer was authorized to file additional petitions in the court on their behalf unless it was someone with the appropriate authority. “Only Salman Akram and Salman Safdar are allowed to file petitions,” she said.

In a further display of frustration, she questioned the lawyers about their efforts to ensure her brother’s access to his children and necessary items. “My brother is not being allowed to speak with his children, and his books aren’t reaching him,” she said. “Naeem Punjota, you are the focal person for Bushra Bibi, who do you meet with?”

Naeem Punjota responded that he had not met with anyone and claimed he could only share his interactions as directed. Aleema Khan, visibly upset, confronted him further, saying, “Don’t be rude to me.” Punjota replied, stating, “I’m not being rude. We’ve been through the jails and have faced charges ourselves.” Aleema Khan, in response, told him to remain silent and accused him of speaking disrespectfully.

As tensions escalated, the lawyers present intervened and pulled Naeem Punjota aside. Aleema Khan, not backing down, continued to question the lawyers about the legal relief they had secured for Imran Khan.
